Your session is always customized for you, and I can adapt it to accommodate almost any special requirements.
Here are some notable examples:
If you're highly sensitive to sound, light, or touch.
This sensitivity is unique to each individual, so knowing specifics in advance is beneficial. I can make numerous accommodations to minimize any issues.
If you have difficulty staying in one position for long periods.
During a session, there are four general positions: supine, prone, side-lying, and sitting. Some find it sufficient to switch between these, while others may need to move more frequently. I can easily adjust!
If you tend to be easily cold or run too warm.
I offer various heating options and blankets, as well as ceiling fans and a small standing fan/heater unit.
If you have a recent injury, even a broken bone.
Even with a cast, I can work around it. Depending on the injury's recency, we may avoid the area, but many options are still available.
If you have a medical condition.
Examples include hemophilia, arthritis, an autoimmune disease, cancer, etc.
Please inform me in advance. Each medical condition has its best practices. In some cases, I may ask if your doctor is aware you will be receiving a massage.
If you are pregnant or have recently given birth.
Including recent miscarriage or termination.
Please let me know in advance so I can prepare accordingly. If you'd like to learn more about Thai massage for pre- and post-natal treatment, I will expand on this topic in another blog post.
If you're uncomfortable with changing clothes.
You may remain in your street clothes, even if they are restrictive. I only ask that you remove your shoes upon entering. Everything else can be adjusted.
If you have difficulty moving from chair to floor or vice versa.
My massage treatment is performed on a large mat on the floor. A sturdy chair with strong arms is available for assistance. I am strong and can help you transition as needed.
If you have allergies.
For cat allergies, please inform me in advance. The cats are never allowed in the massage room, so most people have no issues, but I will ensure I haven't been in contact with them in the clothing I'll be wearing. For other allergies (specific scents or strong peanut allergies), please let me know. I wash my hands before and after every massage, but it's always better to be safe. I have a strong perfume allergy myself, but I use traditional herbal preparations in my treatment room. If you have concerns, please inform me.
If you have older injuries or chronic problem areas that are difficult to move.
Some people worry that I might move their body in a way that could cause pain. I will always listen to you and stop immediately if necessary. If you inform me beforehand, I will avoid such movements entirely.
Are there situations when I might not be able to adjust?
Yes. My massage space is upstairs in my home, and there is no lift. If you cannot walk up the stairs to the first floor, I will not be able to provide a massage. However, if you can manage with extra time or support, I am here to help.
Do you have other suggestions for me to consider?
